Poor Elise

Elise was a bit unlucky on monday...slipped on the melted snow and fell off the fort at school. Result... a broken arm and Trudie and me spending several hours in hospital with her. And it was my day off!

When she left the hospital she said: That was fun! hihi she loved the wheelchair, wanted to take it home and I guess the happy gas had something to do with it!

breaking the silence

...sorry it's been this long. Guess I got caught up in the working life. ;-)

Two months at Terrace Downs and I feel like I live there. 1ste of April I started my job as a waitress. I had decided to do 4 shifts a week. This would give me the required minimum of 30 hours for immigration but also give me spare time to keep looking for jobs in town. yeah right, in my dreams.

It started with a few extra hours at Vanessa's, housekeaping. She and her husband Shane run a hunting lodge. Then I started working more shifts at TD, helped Vanessa out when she was busy. One week I worked both jobs full time. Running from job to job. Then came the week of opportunity....Philip offered me a flexible job, about 10 hours per week. Then two days later Johnny, general manager TD, wanted me for a database project. A short term, 6 week project to set up an e-mail database for direct marketing. Next day my phone rang again and it was Chris Bristol. I had been introduced to her a couple of weeks earlier at the pub. She works for Meridian energy and I knew they where looking for Business Analysts but hadn't managed to get an interview. She had talked to some people, showed them my CV and they want me in for an interview. At the same time I was in the race for my own flat in Methven. affordable, all to myself with bath hihi right in town, Skis seison starting. Methevn is at the base of Mt Hutt and in winter livens up to a cool ski village.

All this ment that I was litteraly going crazy. Didn't know what to do, which opportunities to take! Had little sleep that week but in the end decided to do it all! Made a weekly scedule to fit in all 4 jobs. made a budget and saving plan because of yeah forgot to mension...Julia asked me to go to Thailand with her! We leave on the 21ste of july for 3 weeks of jummie thai food, jungle, elephants, buhdism and beautifull islands.

But not even a week later I had to admit, you just can't do it all. I had to tell Philip I couldn't do the work for him. The flat didn't work out. Someone was able to snatch it away, don't get me started about how unfair this all was but apparently it wasn't meant to be. Flights to Thailand are booked, started database project 3 days a week, work 4 hours a week for Vanessa and do 2 shifts in the reastaurant. Elise and Tiffany are starting to ask me why I have to work everyday...yep ask myself that same quiestion but it's all for a good cause. Saving up for Thailand and making the best of the opportunities that are handed to me. It all may lead to resendecy in the end, who knows!

Social life has been poor but hopefully that's gonna change as of next week! Skifield open on saturday so will be spending a lot of time on the mountain and in Methven. This weekend we had our first big dump of snow. I couldn't drive to work they had to come and get me with a 4wd! Love the feeling of living in the country ;-)!

View from our kitchen on saturday 5pm.
